MajandusTegevuse Register (MTR)

Estonia
Estonia
Regulated by Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs & Communications, Supervisory oversight by EFSA (Finantsinspektsioon) and FIU (Rahapesu Andmebüroo)
Introduction

The Majandustegevuse Register (MTR) is Estonia’s national business activity register that maintains records of licensed and notified economic operators, including forex brokers, crypto service providers, and financial firms. Although MTR itself is not a regulatory authority, it plays a critical role in transparency and license disclosure under the supervision of Estonian Financial Supervision Authority (EFSA) and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

The Majandustegevuse Register (MTR) supports transparency by listing Estonia-based forex and crypto-related businesses. However, it is not a regulator, and investors must confirm licensing with EFSA or FIU before engaging with any broker. Use the MTR portal as a verification tool, not a guarantee of safety.

How to verify regulation?
  1. Visit the MTR Portal
  2. Search using the company’s name, registry code, or activity license number
  3. Review the business scope, valid licenses, supervisory agency, and notes on suspension if applicable
